Overview
The Environmental Robotics Programme was developed as part of NEA’s strategy to leverage robotics technology to transform Singapore’s environmental services sector.
Launched alongside the Environmental Services Industry Transformation Map (ES ITM) in December 2017, the Environmental Robotics Programme seeks to catalyse the local robotics industry by providing opportunities for government, industry, and research institutes to co-create solutions that not only build up local expertise and experience in delivering environmental robotic solutions but also enhance the competitiveness and resilience of the environmental services industry, as well as contribute to Singapore’s Smart Nation objectives
The environment RDS programme is led by the Environment Technology Department (ETD) of NEA.

Autonomous Environmental Service Vehicles for Singapore
Service Vehicles that could autonomously navigate through designated areas and clean them, with less constraints on manpower and timing. Autonomy and eventual assessment of cleanliness are planned in future iterations of this project.

Development of automated system for the mass production and deployment of male Wolbachia-Aedes mosquitoes
Automated system that could rear male Aedes mosquitoes modified with the Wolbalchia bacterium, thereby controlling the mosquito population and reduce the likelihood of dengue outbreaks.
Panthera: A Self-reconfigurable Class of Pavement Sweeping Robot
A pavement sweeping robot that could autonomously clean the assigned pavement, and adjust its width according to the pavement conditions and presence of crowds.
